Field Information
AVERAGE PAY DETAILS
This screen shows the amount of gross pay for the last 24 periods that are to be used in the calculation of Average Pay.
These view-only fields show the employees pay periods used in the calculation of the average pay and the total amount for the whole period of confinement.
If an employee needs to be excluded from the payrun, an exclusion marker can be set. The valid entries are:
0 - Employee is eligible for SMP
1 - Employee's average earnings are below the NI LEL
2 - Employee's length of service is less than 26 weeks.
3 - Employee left prior to the qualifying week.
4 - Employee gave less than 21 days' notice of Maternity Pay Period (MPP) start.
5 - Employee produced medical certificate late.
6 - Employee left the EEC.
7 - Employee is in legal custody.
8 - Employee is deceased.
These fields allow a message to be attached to an employee and printed on the employee's current period payslip. Cleardown will automatically clear this field.
MPP DATES
Enter the date of the Sunday preceding the day on which the baby is due to be born, as stated on the confinement certificate.
Enter the date on which the confinement certificate was received.
This field is currently not in use.
View only. The earliest date on which the employee can commence her maternity leave. The system will automatically calculate this date based on the 'Expected Confinement' field.
Enter the date on which the employee commences maternity leave (this must be a Sunday). If the date on which the employee starts her maternity leave is before the 'First Start Week for SMP', read the next field.
By entering 'Y' in this field, the system will allow an entry of an 'Actual Start Week of MPP before the 'First Start Week MPP. This would be valid in the event of the baby being born earlier than the first valid date for MPP start. In this case the date entered should be the date of the beginning of the week in which (i.e. Sunday) the employee's confinement occurred.
View only. The period number (CCYYPP) in which the actual start week for MPP occurs; the system will automatically commence paying SMP in this period.
View only. The date that the system calculates, based on the entered expected date of confinement. This date will be 15 weeks before the employee's expected date of confinement.
The date of the beginning of the week which is to be used in the calculation of the employee's average pay. This will normally be the same as the Qualifying Week, and will be automatically calculated.
By entering 'Y' in this field, the system will allow an entry in 'Calculate Avg Week' which would be less than the Qualifying Week. This is valid in the event of the employee leaving before the Qualifying Week because of early confinement or because she is 'Fairly Dismissed.'
View only. This is the pay period (CCYYPP) which is the last period to be used for the calculation of average pay. This is the pay period whose pay day falls before the end of the 'Calculate Avg Week.'
